Description
The Integ module provides experiential education for pre-health professions students by applying the student’s basic science knowledge to the pathophysiology and treatment of two scenario-based dermatologic conditions: acne and burn. A few basic science correlates to clinical medicine include:
1. Anatomy and physiology of the skin
2. The role of the skin in protecting the body and regulating aspects, such as temperature by regulating blood flow to the skin and engaging sweat glands
3. Role in maintaining homeostasis in the body
4. Pathophysiology of acne and how it is reversed with treatment
