Evidence Based Medicine

The EBM module provides experiential education for pre-health professions students by applying the student’s basic science knowledge to scenario-based processes of diagnosis and treatment of disease, and risk of disease. Basic science correlates to clinical medicine:

1. Mean, variance, and standard deviation
2. Statistical significance
3. Sensitivity and Specificity
4. Positive and Negative Predictive Values
5. Risk Ratio and Odds Ratio
6. Number Needed to Treat
7. Bayesian Analysis
8. Public health monitoring of risk of disease given various exposures
